I think having the MC and FMC as japanese main characters and having Yosuke as the side character exploring his history would have been a better plot. Plus Ubi could create a DLC having Yosuke now as the main character. As an Asian, I had high hopes of having the first Asian main duo in the franchise in this game.

Marvel is about to start animation fairly soon and should hopefully be out by late 2025 / Early 2026. As for Season 3, DeMayo spoke to marvel ideas for it but NO script was written for it. Rumor has it Marvel might make both Season 2 and 3 close to each other to cut down on production time.

Since the x-men 97 show-runner fired situation(Beau DeMayo) for x-men 97 which includes a return of characters like wolverine and cyclops....the agenda was going to be even stronger with x-men 97 season 2 with a gender swapped wolverine and other characters with the use of the multiverse. DeMayo wanted more gender swapping than Bob Iger/Kevin Feige had planned.

I am half Japanese and grew up in Japan. 千葉県-松戸市. I’m not okay with this. I don’t care if Yasuke was a “samurai” or not. It feels like we Asians are erasable and don’t count as minorities in America. Having a Japanese main character wasn’t good enough so they made one African. If AC was in Africa would people be ok if one of the main characters was Chinese? I think it would be inexcusable. People talk about cultural appropriation but where are they now? They don’t care. Now if the developers were Japanese and made this decision, I’d be ok with it.

This particular criticism is stupid. Assassin's Creed has always been historical fiction. The whole lore is about "real" history being not entirely true due to Templar manipulation and the Animus and Assassins revealing the "actual truth". It's historical fiction. Always has been. Of course the games are becoming more fantastical and that can be criticized but a black man called Yasuke did historically live in Japan and Ubisoft is fictionalising his life. That's it.

There were black people in Japan in the far past. One example is Yasuke. I read that he may have even been a samurai.

I’m playing the game. I know there are debates about Yasuke not being a samurai at all historically but it is debated and this is fiction anyways so they have the liberty to portray Yasuke as a Samurai if they want and Imma play the female anyways so to me it’s an AC set in Japan so will definitely play and I’m still excited for it.
